Position description

Visitor Services volunteers greet visitors to the museum’s Project Space gallery and oversee the exhibition objects and environment during both museum public hours and special events. We are looking for people who are outgoing and friendly, team-oriented, and flexible, and have an interest in the visual arts. Shifts range from 3-4 hours in length, mostly during open gallery hours (Thursday, 11-6; Friday, 11-6, Saturday, 10-4; Sunday, 10-4). The commitment of a Visitor Services volunteer is 2 shifts a month, varying with museum schedule.

Qualifications or requirements

Interest in art a must. Candidates should be able to communicate effectively and easily with guests, enjoy talking about art, and have a willingness to learn about each exhibition, about 4-5 exhibitions a year. Must enjoy interacting with the public. No experience necessary.
