Our Fergus Falls location was launched in June 2011, in partnership with the Lake Region Arts Council. In addition to replicating and customizing Springboard’s resource programs for artists living in West Central Minnesota, our Fergus Falls office is a hub of thought and action about mobilizing artists as leaders in rural communities. Springboard’s work in the Fergus Falls area is supported by the McKnight Foundation, Emily Hall Tremaine Foundation, Mardag Foundation, Bush Foundation, Surdna Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts Our Town grant program, ArtPlace America and the Lake Region Arts Council.
Located in the historic River Inn Building, our resource center in Fergus Falls is a comfortable, inspiring place for the region’s artists and community leaders to interact about creative approaches to local community issues and challenges, and for individual artists to connect to the resources they need to do their best work, whether through career consultations, the use of free computer and wi-fi, discipline specific reading materials, meeting space, or special events and community conversations.
Artist Professional Development
We offer career counseling for individual artists at $45/hour. Limited scholarship funds are available to help cover the costs of these sessions. To learn more, click here.
Imagine Fergus Falls
Imagine Fergus Falls is an initiative that has led to the creation of dozens of artist-led placemaking projects in service of the historic preservation and economic improvement goals of the City of Fergus Falls. Imagine Fergus Falls is funded in part through ArtPlace America, and a National Endowment for the Arts Our Town 2013 grant.
Art4Health is a collaboration with PartnerSHIP 4 Health (PS4H), an organization made up of community and public health partners in Becker, Clay, Otter Tail and Wilkin counties in West Central Minnesota working to create an environment that supports health. Art4Health matches local professional artists to PartnerSHIP’s network of health and human service organizations to help them creatively address their priorities of supporting active living, healthy eating and tobacco cessation.
