AICHO Legal Clinic
AICHO artists can get a free one-on-one or small group 30-minute sessions with an attorney from the Minnesota American Indian Bar Association (MAIBA) or a partnering law firm to have questions about copyright, contracts, business organization, the Indian Arts and Crafts Act, sales tax and trademark answered, and how tribal law may intersect with these areas. It's open to individual artists, artist-led businesses or small arts organizations from the AICHO community.
Consultations are conducted via Zoom or phone -- a videocamera is not required to join. Fifteen slots are available on a first come first serve basis.
Sessions are 30 minutes. You may be matched one-on-one with an attorney, or paired with 2-3 other AICHO artists if your legal questions are closely related.
