Ask Me Anything: Legacy & Estate Planning
Date/Time: Monday, September 16, 2024, 12:00 – 1:00 pm Central Time

This informal Q&A session with attorney Allison Fabyanske Eklund and curator Kate Hujda will focus on what artists need to know about estate planning and legacy-building when planning for the future. As artists, it’s never too early in one’s career to make plans to ensure that our life’s work is documented, accounted for and in the hands of trusted individuals. Planning is how we answer questions about how we’d like to be remembered, what groups we’d like to support after we’re gone, and who will safeguard our legacy. We’ll cover inventorying your work, approaching collecting institutions, storage, appraisals, copyright, donation options, and more. Moderated by Andy Sturdevant, Artist Resources Manager, Springboard for the Arts.
