The Minnesota District of the Small Business Administration (SBA) provides a wide variety of services to small businesses, including funding programs, counseling, federal contracting certifications, and disaster recovery. They can also connect you to partner organizations, lenders, and other community groups that help small businesses succeed. Learn more about how your creative business project can work with SBA and its partners. Anna Schmiel, Outreach & Marketing Specialist for the Minnesota District, will provide a brief overview of SBA services, and answer your questions about starting a small business, and what comes next.
A lifelong Minnesotan, Anna Schmiel (she/her) currently works for the MN District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), where she manages the Women’s Business Centers (WBCs) and the Microloan portfolios. She is passionate about creating a more community-centric world using sustainable design principles and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Sustainable Design at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD).
