About the Artist:
Abby Thompson (they/them/theirs) is a video and multimedia artist from the Twin Cities. Their work is rooted in feminist practice and the de/re-construction of the moving image and beyond, currently focusing on virtual reality, 360 degree video, and immersive sound design. Abby’s multimedia creations use existing media or multiple pieces of dissimilar media, in an effort to create a collision of ideas, comparing, contrasting, and re-imagining presumed truths of the human experience. Ultimately, aiming to resemble a collage in motion. Abby graduated from Hamline University in 2019 and received a Bachelor of Arts studying Digital Media Ethics and Cinema. Their work currently revolves around topics of identity, fear, and catharsis.
