Help us welcome Springboard's new Hinge Resident Artist, Yan Pang, on a virtual Zoom meeting Tuesday, January 19th, from 4 - 5pm!
Springboard's Hinge Artist Meet and Greets are free and open to anyone who is interested in meeting the artists in our program!
Join us virtually to hear more about Yan's art practice and what she will be working on during her online residency, share your ideas and things you want Yan to know about the Fergus Falls community, and enjoy conversation with other community members and artists in an informal and welcoming setting through Zoom. Bring your favorite drink or snack while we connect!
About the Artist:
Yan Pang (she/her) is a composer, performer, and scholar. She is currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Music at St Olaf College. She received her Ph.D. in Music with a minor in Theater Arts & Dance at the University of Minnesota. Her work focuses on inter-cultural music composition and performance. As part of this interest, she has been commissioned to compose and invited to perform in music festivals throughout the world. She considers both her music composition as a means to build multicultural understanding and tolerance. A selection of her varied publications includes the album Glory Times (as songwriter and music director) by the China Scientific & Cultural Audio Video Publishing Company, and the score “Solis Ortus” (winner of the SunRiver International Composition Competition) by China People’s Cultural Publishing Company. Yan Pang will be participating with Hinge Arts through an online residency from Monday, January 18th until Saturday, February 13th, 2021 for the Hannah Kempfer Residency Program. You must register for this online meet and greet to receive the Zoom meeting invite and link!
