Artists are here! At Springboard for the Arts, we believe in Creative People Power, in the power of artists as creators, innovators, leaders, and neighbors. Springboard for the Arts' mission is to cultivate vibrant communities by connecting artists with the skills, information, and services they need to make a living and a life. Tuesday, December 1 is Giving Tuesday, and we are fundraising to support our work.
From our offices in Saint Paul and Fergus Falls, we provide workshops on business and entrepreneurial skills for artists, one-on-one career consulting, our Job Board, and health and legal resources. We partner with community organizations to create programs and projects that engage artists in decision-making and problem-solving, so that together they can shape the narratives of their communities. Nationally, we help make things happen through consulting, training, and sharing stories and toolkits via our Creative Exchange platform. In our 2019-2020 fiscal year, we served 21,165 artists nationally through our programs.
We know that artists, culture bearers, and creative workers will be a critical part of our collective recovery and will help us imagine and build a future for our communities that is better, more connected, and more just. We will need their creativity, vision, and practical skills for what comes next. Springboard is committed to ensuring that artists have a safety net for their futures. We are also more committed than ever to racial justice and centering marginalized communities. Your gift to Springboard directly supports this responsive, necessary programming. Thank you for your gift.

As an artist-led organization, we are a responsive to our community in crisis. Since March 13, 2020, Springboard has provided over $1M in direct emergency relief to over 2,000 artists, culture bearers, and creative workers across Minnesota. We have an open application period starting November 16, and your support of this fund goes directly to support artists in Minnesota.
In 2018, we bought SpringBOX, our new home at 262 University Avenue West in Saint Paul! In our first year of ownership, SpringBOX hosted poetry readings, community meetings, Zumba classes, pop-up markets, and more. With the building being finished, greenscaping going in, we can't wait to safely re-open this community asset.
