Provide instructional classes in all assigned subjects in accordance with the agency mission, philosophy, curriculums, and directions established by the principal and superintendent. Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum and lesson plans that meet the requirements of the school’s academic plan. Prepare instructional materials, conduct classroom instruction, and evaluate and assess student development performance. Prepare and provide feedback on students’ progress to students and parents/guardians; make suggestions for improvements as indicated. Participate in parent/teacher conferences, enter grades using Infinite Campus on a regular basis, and participate in staff and faculty meetings. Participate in school events, committees outside the classroom and attend personal development training as appropriate. Comply with the Minnesota Code of Ethics for Teachers. Perform all other responsibilities and duties as assigned or apparent.
THIS IS A 10 MONTH PER YEAR POSITION – SCHEDULE IS BASED ON THE SCHOOL CALENDAR
ANTICIPATED START DATE: AUGUST 2020
Job classification (Arts Education Teacher 2-9) and salary will be determined based on the selected applicant’s experience and degree.

Perpich Center for Arts Education is the dedicated state agency supporting arts education for Minnesota. Our mission is to provide all Minnesota students the opportunity to develop, enhance, and integrate their artistic and academic abilities to their highest potential. We do this by teaching in and through the arts. We teach in our arts high school for
juniors and seniors. We also teach through our professional development and research activities. We support teaching art and arts integration through the extensive arts education material in our library.
Qualifications or requirements
Valid Minnesota K-12 teaching license in Spanish or ability to obtain Tier 2 licensure.
Classroom management and organization skills.
Experience and proficiency in the implementation of current best practices and strategies in instruction and learning.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Positive interpersonal skills and ability to relate well to students, parents and staff from diverse backgrounds.
Strong collaboration skills sufficient to work with families and other team members.
Knowledge and ability to adapt to students’ learning styles and needs.
Knowledge of relevant learning technology and proficient in its use (i.e. Smart board technology, MS Office Suite, Google applications, spreadsheets).
Experience teaching Spanish at the high school level.
Experience working with diverse students and a demonstrated commitment to equity in education.
Successful candidate must pass employer reference checks and criminal history check.
Must possess and maintain a valid MN driver’s license.
