Job description

The digital communications coordinator position exists to research, provide advice, develop, and implement strategies and tactics that enable the Minnesota State Arts Board to maximize its use of digital communication to serve constituents. Principle responsibilities include communications writing, editing, social media and Web site content development, design, and support.

This is a part-time, 20 hours a week position. The days and hours of work will be determined between incumbent and executive director.

The Minnesota State Arts Board is a state agency that stimulates and encourages the creation, performance, and appreciation of the arts in the state.

Qualifications or requirements

Minimum qualifications

The digital communications coordinator must possess:
-A bachelor’s degree in marketing, digital media, public relations, communications, journalism, or other related fields
-OR-
-Three years’ professional experience in communications, marketing, public relations, or digital media positions
-Excellent written communication skills
-Demonstrated skills/experience in graphic design and Web design
-Experience with Adobe Creative Suite including Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat or other related software.
-Ability to work independently and efficiently
-Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
-Able to set, meet, and, when needed, adjust priorities
-Professionalism, good judgement
-Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations responding to questions related to accessing the agency information online

Preferred Qualifications

-Familiarity with Chicago Style
-Understanding of State technology and Web policies and procedures.
