Job description

Kulture Klub Collaborative (KKC) exists with the specific mission and purpose to engage with young people who are experiencing or transitioning out of homelessness. We are one of the only arts organizations in the nation whose programming focuses exclusively on this community. The heart of our work is to provide our young people with arts experiences that develop artistic skills; support healing and transformation; and offer experiences of trust, stability, community, and belonging.

Position Description

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for Kulture Klub Collaborative’s staff and programs. The Executive Director will hold KKC’s mission and vision in sharp focus.

The Executive Director is responsible for stewarding the creation and implementation of: all artistic and direct programming, rigorous program evaluation, quality financial reporting and administration, successful budgeting and fundraising, effective communications, and strategic planning and visioning.

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning

Provide vision and leadership on the creation of the multi-year strategic plan
Provide overall direction for implementation of plans to ensure that the organization achieves its mission
Track and manage evaluation process for measuring progress on strategic plan

Leadership and Management

Actively engage and energize board members, artists, participating young people, partnering organizations, and funders
Support the Board of Directors and Board committees
Hire, supervise, and evaluate staff, artists, and consultants
Manage contracts with artists and service providers
Foster strategic partnerships with organizations and leaders
Develop and administer comprehensive evaluation plans for programming

Direct Engagement

Actively engage and connect potential and current young people to KKC activities and opportunities
Collaborate with staff and participating young people to create opportunities for leadership, programming and evaluation input, and internship positions
Seek and provide ongoing professional development for organization relevant to the assets and needs of staff and participating young people

Communications and Outreach

Coordinate all internal and external communications
Coordinate outreach efforts geared toward recruitment of program participants
Serve as lead spokesperson for the organization and ensure the organization and its mission are properly presented to various audiences

Financial Management

Develop annual budget that aligns with strategic goals and action plans
Oversee tax preparation and filing
Provide oversight of financial reports

Fundraising

Cultivate and steward relationships with diverse funding partners (i.e., government, foundations, corporations, individual donors, etc.)
Create and submit grant proposals
Ensure that KKC is in compliance with all legal regulations and reporting requirements

Qualifications or requirements

Preferred Experience

Background working with young people and community equity work
Community and organizational partnerships
Leadership including hiring, supervision, and strategic planning
Grant writing, administration, and reporting

Required Qualifications

5 years of experience working with young people experiencing or transitioning out of homelessness
Education, certificates, or degree relevant to the position responsibilities
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace

Preferred Skills

Ability to connect with young people
Understanding of racial, social, educational and economic disparities
Ability to engage with teaching artists and young people to showcase talent and manage the details of artist workshops and internships
Ability to discern best practices for safety, programming, and financial planning within impacts of the pandemic
Knowledge of harm reduction, trauma informed care, and/or healing centered engagement
Understanding of QuickBooks, social media platforms, and website management
Strong time management and decision-making skills
Ability to understand or learn financial documents and budgets
Adaptable (ability to pivot between virtual and in-person programming)
Ability to build rapport with donors, funders and community partners
Familiarity with the local arts communities
A passion for the mission and work of Kulture Klub Collaborative
