Job description

Marketing & Communications Manager

The National Lutheran Choir (NLC) seeks a skilled and flexible arts administrator/marketing & communications professional to help design, develop, and execute its external messaging.

NLC is staffed by a small, highly collaborative team. The person in this position will work closely with the Executive Director, Operations Manager, and other organizational leadership from the Board and staff to ensure that patrons receive skillful and engaging communications from the organization.

This job can be accomplished 100% remotely at present; flexible scheduling is available. This is a part-time, temporary (6-9 month) position; ongoing employment with full time hours is possible depending on pandemic recovery in the performing arts.

• Manage NLC’s social media and digital presence to support organizational objectives;
• Develop and execute 2-3 social media posts per week and disseminate to appropriate platforms;
• Write and design monthly E-news bulletins;
• Update website on a regular basis to keep content fresh and consistent across platforms;
• Assist with the development and delivery of content for virtual subscribers.
• Contribute to the design and integration of communication platforms and technologies.

• Develop and execute digital marketing strategies to promote virtual concert and event attendance;
• Advise and assist with emerging promotional strategies as the arts environment recovers from the pandemic;
• Lead the development of print and digital materials;
• Collect and analyze sales and engagement data to determine future efforts.

• Serve as a member of the team to staff events and complete special projects.

Qualifications or requirements

• Knowledge of and passion for music, especially choral music.
• Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly using the written word and graphic images.
• Digitally-savvy skillset with the initiative and resourcefulness to learn new platforms as necessary; experience in Squarespace, Salesforce, Emma, Final Cut Pro, and MS Office desired.
• Strong capacity to manage multiple projects at once with attention to detail and follow-through.
• Ability to work from home office with reliable connectivity.
• Professional, engaging, and diplomatic demeanor; flexibility and strong people skills.
• Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years work experience in an arts organization a plus.
