Theatre Unbound is seeking a creative, hardworking, and dynamic theatre professional to become its first Marketing Director. The Marketing Director leads efforts to build awareness of Theatre Unbound’s work and grow the company’s impact by ensuring financial stability through increased ticket sales. The Marketing Director reports to the Executive Director. This is a one-year position with the possibility of continuation contingent on the availability of funds.
Time Commitment: .20 FTE (average 8 hours/week)
Qualifications or requirements
Experience with implementing best practices in theater marketing
Experience with managing a team
Experience with Graphic Design prefered
Commitment to Theater Unbound’s mission and work
Open and responsive leader
Ability to be both hands-on and strategic
High level of comfort working with diverse groups of people (artists, board members, journalists, etc.)
Chair Marketing Committee (meets monthly) and coordinate its efforts Collaborate with Social Media Director, ensuring changing and dynamic posts. Implement recommendations in the company’s Marketing Strategy Initiative, including but not limited to a) building relationships with audiences and potential audience members through email newsletter and postings to website and b) building relationships with media through press releases and other regular contact. Represent TU at events and speaking engagements Document practices and train board and staff members as backups for all tasks.
