Non-AEA Stage Manager

Location: Minnesota - Twin Cities
Type: Temp / Contract
Category: Theatrical performance and direction

City: St. Paul, MN
Salary: $3,000.00 stipend

Job description

Interact Center for the Visual and Performing Arts is a non-profit arts organization offering full-time creative practice at the professional level to adults with disabilities. Since 1996, Interact’s mission to create art that challenges perceptions of disability has redefined who is included in the artistic process. Interact Theater’s entourage of 40+ actors with disabilities creates all original work, sustains rigorous professional standards, and explores ideas through the lens of the entire spectrum of disability labels. Our uncompromising vision of radical inclusion dissolves concepts of who “can” or “cannot,” blending the talents and viewpoints of artists with and without disabilities, and artists from mainstream and marginalized communities.

Interact is seeking an experienced non-AEA stage manager for the upcoming full-scale, ensemble-generated summer 2019 production of Those Were The Days (working title).

This show will be based on 1950s nostalgia and classic TV shows set against the backdrop of the time, launching the cultural revolution of the 60s. Those Were The Days will feature a company of approximately 50 performers with and without disabilities. Rehearsals for this production will occur at Interact in St. Paul’s Midway neighborhood. This production will perform at The Lab Theater in Minneapolis.
