Overview:

Mendoza Law, LLC seeks a Paralegal/E-Discovery Specialist looking to join a growing, fun, community engaged boutique law firm. The person hired for this position will:

+ Enjoy working on a variety of projects in dynamic practice areas including the arts & entertainment industries, internet, data privacy, non-profit law, business and mediation.
+ Support two attorneys providing top quality transactional, regulatory, legislative, and litigation legal services to a wide range of clients from individuals to small businesses to Fortune 500 companies.
+ Be the lead staff member responsible for litigation technology at the firm.

We’ve got the remote working environment down, so no, you are not expected to be, or wanted to be physically in our beautiful St. Paul Midway office building until the COVID-19 threat is over. For more information about the firm please visit www.mendozalawoffice.com.

Principal Duties:

+ Litigation technical support, including e-discovery, document management, court filings, scheduling, and trial support.
+ E-discovery software administration and management.
+ Corporate filings, regulatory filings, non-profit filings, IRS filings.
+ Word processing; data entry.
+ Internet research and basic legal research.
+ Document review
+ Assistance with drafting memoranda, reports, discovery, motions, including proofreading and citation
+ Light document drafting (contracts and corporate documents)
+ Calendar and contact management for two attorneys
+ Planning, assistance and support for attorney volunteer activities, non-profit board work, and outside events
+ Mail preparation and telephone answering for attorneys

Qualifications or requirements

Required Qualifications:

+ Highly organized
+ Client-service oriented
+ 2-3 years previous experience with or knowledge of litigation software (e.g. IPro, Relativity, Trial Director)
+ Proficient computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook365, Adobe Acrobat Pro DC
+ Excellent internet research, oral communication, and writing skills (must be English language proficient); writing sample required
+ Excellent interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Enthusiasm for firm’s practice areas
+ Confident, self-motivated, and resourceful
+ Driver’s license and access to personal transportation
+ Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate

Schedule/Compensation/Benefits:

+ 1 week personal time off per year, front loaded.
+ 2 weeks paid sick time front loaded with continuing accrued sick time for each hour worked.
+ 2 weeks paid vacation front loaded with continuing accrued vacation time for each hour worked.
+ Eligibility for group health insurance coverage beginning 90 days after employment.
+ Family/medical/parental leave policy eligibility after 12 months continuous employment.
+ 401k plan.
+ Free outdoor parking.
