Job description

Under the direction of the Parks and Recreation Manager, Recreation Supervisors and Coordinators enhance the quality of life for all residents and to foster individual and community in all aspects of physical, mental, social and environmental through recreational opportunities.

Plymouth Park & Recreation Department offers a wide variety of programs and classes throughout the year. We are continuously seeking instructors to propose and lead special interest classes for Preschoolers through Seniors in the areas of Education, Health & Fitness, Arts or Safety Education.

Brochure deadlines are as follows:

Winter: September 1st
Spring/Summer: December 1st

You must fill out an application form at
You will be contacted by a Supervisor to discuss the possibilities and requirements of offering a new class/program for the Parks and Recreation.
Interviews and background checks will be completed.

Essential Functions
Plans, organizes and direct activities for all ages in a recreation setting.
Provide support as needed for all participants and staff to create an inclusive environment.
Ensures quality programs for all ages.
Follows staff policies and procedures.
Ensures all staff and participants follow the established policies and procedures.
Provide a safe, fun and appropriate experience of all participants.

Qualifications or requirements

Previous teaching, speaking experience related to proposed topic.
References in area of expertise.
Equivalent certification/qualifications for proposed session/topic.
18 years of age or older.
