Job description

The Summer Camp Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and promoting an on-site, fee-based Summer Arts camp program. Coordinates all activities related to the specific program. Controls program expenditures in accordance with the program budget. Responsibilities include coordinate final Camp schedule. Work with Artistry staff to create registration policies, forms, and confirmation emails. Coordinate material purchases and supply lists. Work with vendors to coordinate announcement of camps to public. Update website with camp activities and schedules. Coordinate schedules, cancellations, and other information with teaching Artists. Collaborates with the Manager of Community Partnerships and fellow education staff to create contracts with teaching artists. Schedule teaching artist and other payments with Artistry staff. Work with City of Bloomington staff and Artistry colleagues to ensure that education facilities are reserved when needed and appropriately maintained. Coordinate camp experience for attendees and parents and serve as point of contact for parents.

Qualifications or requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Arts Education, or Education or related field preferred. Experience in program marketing and promotion. Experience developing and managing budgets.

Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, including skills in resolving conflict and working with strong and diverse personalities. Financial management skills, including the ability to manage budgets and interpret financial activity statements. Computer proficiency in all areas of Microsoft Office and/or Google apps. Ability to plan, problem-solve, and follow through on commitments.
