HUGE Improv Theater is looking for board members to join us in 2024. We are a non-profit arts organization dedicated to supporting the Twin Cities’ diverse and thriving improv community through performance and education. HUGE Theater has been in the Lyn-Lake area of Minneapolis since 2010, purchasing a building last year.
Our two biggest current challenges are removing the elements of white supremacist culture that have plagued our art form from its beginnings, and financially surviving in a newly purchased building at an economically difficult time.
Helpful Board member skills could include: Development & fundraising, community building & outreach, event planning, legal, nonprofit experience, arts and social justice background.
Previous board experience is helpful but not required. We are committed to creating a diverse, sustainable, inclusive organization; members of historically underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.
Note: The role of HUGE board members does not include participation in artistic decisions.
Specific expectations include:
Attendance at board meetings (in-person or remote)
Ability to make a personally meaningful financial contribution
Willingness to actively participate in fundraising activities
Willingness to be a public advocate for HUGE, leveraging connections wherever possible to advance HUGE’s work
Estimated time commitment: average of 2 hours/month
To apply, please email jill@hugetheater.com to express your interest! Thank you.
