The Minneapolis Choir Co-op (MCC) is seeking applications for a Choral Conducting Fellowship, which will provide rehearsal and performance opportunities for up to three early-career choral conductors in Minnesota for the 2024-25 season. We are offering selected conductors rehearsal time with an established choir of professional and pre-professional singers as well as a $500 stipend. Fellows will have access to professional audiovisual recordings of rehearsals and performance. Mentorship throughout the concert cycle from an established conductor is available as needed to match each Fellow’s experience level.

As an ensemble, one of our goals is to provide opportunities for emerging artists to launch or accelerate their careers. We are especially seeking conductors who are BIPOC, female, disabled, and/or LGBTQIA+, in order to help address historic exclusion from opportunities in leading ensembles, but we will consider applications from all interested conductors.

If you have any questions please reach out to our team at minneapolischoircoop@gmail.com. We are looking for guest conductors for three performances for the season. The deadline for the first round is due August 1, 2024.

Application Questions – please send an email to minneapolischoircoop@gmail.com answering the questions.

1. Introduce yourself in 500 words or less.
a. What is your composition training and experience?
b. Have you had works performed by ensembles before? If so, where and when?
c. How would performing with Minneapolis Choir Co-op further advance your composition career?
d. Are you BIPOC, female, disabled, and/or LGBTQIA+?
2. Submit one or two work samples, either scores and/or recordings, of compositions that showcase your artistic approach. If you don’t have work samples, describe past performances that you’ve contributed to.
