2025-26 Cross-Cultural Collaboration residency
We invite proposals from new performance-based collaborations made of two people that explore and celebrate cross-cultural identity, heritage, and exchange. This residency is rooted in the belief that performance can serve as a powerful tool for cultural storytelling, community connection, and deeper understanding across differences.
Applicants are asked to create work that actively integrates elements of their own cultural background or lived experience. This could manifest through language, movement, music, attire, oral tradition, spiritual practice, narrative structure, design, or other creative frameworks.
At the heart of this residency is our commitment to fostering new artistic collaborations and encouraging artists to step into fresh creative relationships. We are excited to support teams who are coming together for the first time to imagine and build new work in the community. This residency only supports the creation of a new work.
To honor this intention, we will not be accepting applications from individual artists, nor from collaborative teams with an existing history of working together. This includes past performances, exhibitions, or shared projects.
By focusing on newly formed partnerships, we aim to create space for risk-taking, cross-disciplinary exploration, and the kind of bold experimentation that can emerge when two artists engage with their own and other voices and perspectives.
Application Deadline: Friday June 6, 2025 at noon.
