Foley, MN Welcome Sign (RFQ)
The City of Foley’s Economic Development Committee, in Benton County, is seeking a sculpture/installation artist to create two complementary custom art pieces (welcome signs) reflecting the history of Foley and the surrounding area. The initial phase of the project will select four artists to each develop a conceptual presentation for public review and comment. The second phase of the project will be installation. The completion date is flexible, the goal would be to have it installed by Fall 2024.
The community will be engaged to assist in selecting the artist to complete the work by way of public voting events and judging panel. The goals of this project are to support our efforts on improving the overall aesthetics/beautification, encourage positive impacts in the local economy by adding interest to our town, and finally, continue highlighting the history of Foley by way of the arts. The town has embraced the arts as seen in our last project. The newer veteran’s memorial on Hwy. 23 is another way the people of Foley have embraced sharing history through art. We also have a unique property that displays yard sculptures, something if you Google Foley, is sure to be highlighted. Please email Brandon Voit at firstname.lastname@example.org if interested and would like to be sent the full Request for Artists PDF.
Please see the full RFQ, which includes our estimated/ideal budget of $60,000.
