The Kouba Gallery, nestled on the serene banks of the Minnesota River within the Minnesota Valley Chapter of the Izaak Walton League’s Chapter House, invites artists to participate in our upcoming thematic shows for 2024. With a mission to explore the evolving human connection with nature, our gallery provides a tranquil setting for the exhibition of diverse artistic expressions. The Kouba Gallery is a 100% non-profit all volunteer initiative.

1. Fabulous Flowers

Dates: May 10 – June 4
Open House: May 14th
Description: Celebrating the beauty and diversity of flowers, this show invites artists to explore floral motifs through various mediums including painting, photography, ceramics, and mixed media.

2. Magical Mycology

Dates: July 5 – August 6
Open House: July 9th
Description: Delve into the enchanting world of fungi with this thematic exhibition. Artists are encouraged to depict the fascinating forms, colors, and mysteries of mushrooms and mycelium.

3. Nature Overcoming the Human Presence

Dates: August 9 – September 3
Open House: August 13th
Description: Reflecting on the resilience of nature, this show explores instances where the natural world reclaims and thrives despite human intervention. Artists are invited to interpret this theme through their artwork.

4. Snow and Ice

Dates: November 8 – December 3
Open House: November 12th
Description: Embracing the serene beauty of winter landscapes, this exhibition showcases artworks capturing the ethereal qualities of snow and ice. Artists can explore the tranquility and purity of these elements through various mediums.

Artists interested in participating are invited to submit their work relevant to one or more of the thematic shows.
Submissions should include high-quality images of the artwork, along with a brief artist statement and description of how the work relates to the chosen theme(s).
Please specify the intended show(s) for each submission.
All mediums, including painting, photography, ceramics, and mixed media, are welcome.
