Towerside’s Board is a volunteer governing body of directors with legal and fiduciary responsibility for the organization. It acts as the steward of the public’s trust, upholds high accountability standards, and works to fulfill Towerside’s vision and mission. The board has three primary functions: governing, monitoring, and stewarding.
You may be a good candidate if:
– You believe in collaborative and values-driven place-based development
– You live, work, or frequently spend time in or around the innovation district
– You have professional experience in the built environment and city building, community and economic development, spatial justice, complex infrastructure projects, public-private partnerships, and/or asset-based and collaborative planning processes
– You have lived experience with the positive and/or negative impacts and outcomes of community and economic development initiatives
– You bring a diverse perspective as a member of an underserved or marginalized community
– You are interested in taking on a leadership role as a committee chair, co-chair, or board officer
– You have applicable skills in or a strong interest to learn nonprofit management
– You have a connection to a Towerside partner or Supported Organization
Towerside is adjacent to the Prospect Park, Stadium Village, and Saint Anthony Park neighborhoods and the Creative Enterprise Zone.
