Ramsey County has earmarked CARES Act funds for small businesses, with $1.5 million set aside specifically for "individuals contributing to the local creative economy". This includes sole proprietors, self-employed creative workers, and home-based creative businesses. Creative economy applicants are eligible for up to $7,500 in grant support.
Eligible expenses for these funds are things like purchasing equipment to reopen/move business online, marketing, rent and facility expenses, and more. This is the initial application to ensure eligibility. If selected after September 1, there will be additional documentation of business revenue or expenses required to complete the application.
