A queer, non-binary Puerto Rican native of South Minneapolis, Candida Gonzalez creates jewelry/mixed media talismans under the name Las Ranas Jewelry. The work of Las Ranas is mixed media assemblage, using new, thrifted, vintage and upcycled components with an emphasis on acrylic, brass and crystals. Each piece is a mini-spell holding a specific energy. Most pieces are created around the different energies and elements of the zodiac and the tarot as well as symbolism, color theory and ancestral knowledge.
