We will be closed July 4-8 Details

In response to the Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic, and specifically to an increased number of cases in the Twin Cities metro area, Springboard for the Arts is implementing the following changes. Beginning on Monday, March 16, we will be limiting public access to our offices and resource centers. We are encouraging all employees to work remotely, moving meetings and consultations to digital platforms, and postponing all public events through May 18 at the earliest. We are committed to continuing to serve artists and communities, providing services, and doing so in a way that supports public health. We will update our plans as we the situation progresses.

We have established a page on our website for coronavirus/COVID-19 resources for artists.

Emergency Relief Fund

We have also expanded the guidelines of our Personal Emergency Relief Fund to include lost income due to the cancelation of a specific, scheduled gig or opportunity (i.e. commissions, performances, contracts) due to Coronavirus/COVID-19 precautionary measures. Artists can request up to $500 to compensate for cancelled work that was scheduled and lost. At this time the fund is not available to compensate for future gigs or potential loss of business. Springboard for the Arts has committed an additional $10,000 from our budget to support this effort and is committed to working with partners to increase the fund based on demand.

Principles for Ethical Cancellation

Many businesses, organizations and people are finding themselves in the position of canceling public events and gatherings due to the Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic. This is disappointing and scary for a lot of organizations and businesses who rely on in person events to fulfill their mission and to generate income. We have written down some principles to help support artists, independents workers, and creative organizations at this time.

This is an ongoing and evolving situation, which we will continue to monitor and update our plans as needed. We look forward to resuming regular programming as we are able. Please look after yourselves and each other.
