This in-person, three-hour technical workshop focuses on the practical recording and editing skills needed to produce a clean, professional-sounding podcast. Participants will learn how to choose and configure recording equipment, set up an effective home or portable recording space, and capture high-quality audio using common microphones, audio interfaces, and recording software. The workshop also covers essential editing workflows, including organizing sessions, basic noise reduction, leveling, cutting and arranging audio, and exporting files for distribution.
Designed for beginners and early-stage podcasters, the session emphasizes real-world troubleshooting and best practices to avoid common technical issues before and after recording. Participants will leave with a clear understanding of how to confidently record, edit, and prepare podcast episodes for release.
A laptop is required for this workshop. However, if you work from a desktop at home and need to use a computer for this session, please email andy@springboardforthearts.org to let us know, and we’ll try to make arrangements.
Space is limited to 12 participants to allow for discussion and individual questions. Coffee, tea and light snacks will be provided.
