This three-hour session combines a one-hour instructional workshop with a two-hour guided work session to help artists learn the basics of working with digital audio workstations (DAWs) such as Logic Pro. The workshop portion will introduce core concepts of recording and editing audio, including navigating the DAW interface, setting up tracks, recording audio or MIDI, basic editing and arranging, working with loops and virtual instruments, and understanding signal flow, levels, and simple mixing tools.
The guided work session that follows functions as a supported study hall where participants can apply what they’ve learned in real time. Attendees will have time to record or import sounds, experiment with editing and arranging, explore plugins and instruments, troubleshoot technical questions, and get individualized help and feedback on their projects.
No prior recording experience is required, though participants should bring a laptop with Logic Pro or another DAW installed if possible. A limited number of computers may be available upon request. Headphones are required. Participants are welcome to bring audio files, samples, or ideas they’d like to experiment with during the session.
Space is limited to 12 participants to allow for discussion and individual questions. Coffee, tea and light snacks will be provided.

Bio: Cassieopia is a DJ, producer, and music educator with years of experience performing across the Twin Cities. She has built a reputation for dynamic, genre-blending DJ sets rooted in dance music, hip-hop, R&B, Gospel, pop and much more, bringing a unique and signature sound to every space she enters.
Her performance and career highlights include appearing on the Last of the Record Buyers stage at the Soundset Music Festival alongside major national and international acts such as Lauren Hill, DJing an official afterparty following Diana Ross, backing legendary rapper Rah Digga, and serving as the official DJ for Lady Midnight while touring with Dessa.
