Call for Artists – Create Magic With Us at Ice Castles MN

This winter, Ice Castles MN is inviting local artists to be part of the enchantment. We’re opening an opportunity for creators to build on-site art installations that enhance the guest experience and complement the icy world our Ice Artisans bring to life.

We are seeking artists who work with materials they can shape, carve, craft, or illuminate—artists excited by the idea of creating something special within a magical winter environment.

We’re Looking For Artists Who:

• Carve or sculpt (ice, snow, wood, stone, mixed media, etc.)
• Work with metal
• Create light-based or illuminated pieces
• Build installation-style artwork
• Enjoy crafting pieces that transform a space

Not Included in This Call:

Photographers / Videographers(This opportunity is specifically for artists who create physical installations on-site.)

What You’ll Experience:

• A chance to help shape the magic at Ice Castles MN
• Collaboration with our skilled team of Ice Artisans
• A truly unique winter “canvas” to bring your idea to life
• Exposure to thousands of visitors throughout the season
• A creative environment that celebrates imagination and originality
• Artist stipends of $300-$600 available depending on scope of proposal

What We Ask:

• Artwork must be installed on-site at the MN State Fairgrounds, some work space and raw material (ice and snow) can be provided by the event
• Pieces must be durable and suitable for winter conditions
• All concepts must be safe, family-friendly, and fit the Ice Castles aesthetic
• Work should be original and created specifically for this installation opportunity
