Call For Films – 2026 Downstream Film Festival

Clean River Partners

Clean River Partners is hosting our 9th Downstream Environmental Film Festival in February 2026. We are an environmental non-profit dedicated to inspiring people and organizations to value, protect, and improve the Cannon River Watershed’s land and water.

Our film festival celebrates the artistry of local, national, and international filmmakers who address critical environmental issues while inspiring others to take action. Selected filmmakers will receive recognition on the Clean River Partners website and have their films presented at five screenings in breweries across Northfield, Faribault, Cannon Falls and Owatonna.

Film submissions are open to any genre that meet the following requirements:
1) Films must have a topic that falls into one of the following categories: environment, water, environmental justice
2) Films must address this year’s festival theme of transformation
3) Films must be 5-20 minutes in length
4) Films must be subtitled in English
Since we would love to have more submissions from Midwesterners, we are happy to offer a deadline extension to October 31st! Please submit on our FilmFreeway event page using the waiver code: DEFFWAIVER26.
