Mall of America Atrium Sensory Art Installation – Fraser + Artistry

Mall of America (MOA), Artistry, and Fraser seek a sensory-inclusive, sustainability-focused art installation for the Mall of America Atrium (Level 1, North) in Bloomington, MN. $30,000 installation/fabrication budget includes a $15,000 artist fee.
Launching March 2026, this installation will engage diverse audiences from across the Midwest through interactive, inclusive, and educational design.
We encourage applications from everyone, including neurodivergent artists, disabled artists, and artists who identify as disabled (with disclosure at applicant’s discretion) as well as artists who have experience creating work in partnership with these communities.
The commissioned installation should:
- Respond to the physical and social context of MOA’s Atrium.
- Serve as a community meeting point and visitor destination.
- Encourage active participation through sensory and interactive components.
- Highlight sustainability, accessibility, and neurodiversity awareness.
- Provide opportunities for Fraser- and Artistry-led activations.
- Offer measurable engagement via QR code tracking and digital storytelling.
Creative direction:
- Multi-sensory experience (touch, sound, sight, scent)
- Integration of sustainable materials and principles
- Emphasis on art therapy and inclusion
- Connection to Fraser’s sensory and neurodiverse community
- Collaboration with Artistry for artist mentorship and activation.
