EVENT INFORMATION

The Powderhorn Park Neighborhood Association (PPNA) is pleased to present the 35th Annual Powderhorn Art Fair on August 1st and 2nd, 2026.  The Powderhorn Art Fair is a juried fine art and fine crafts festival in Minneapolis, Minnesota’s beautiful 66-acre Powderhorn Park.  Every year, 190 artists will circle around the tree-lined Powderhorn Lake along with food vendors and community organizations.

Powderhorn Art Fair is a collaboration between the Powderhorn Neighborhood Association (PPNA) and the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB). Proceeds from the Powderhorn Art Fair go towards programs that help strengthen the community. The Powderhorn Art Fair attracts artists from over twenty states and 200 cities, making it a local and regional favorite. The fair’s success comes from the long-standing collaboration between PPNA & MPRB.


GENERAL INFORMATION

Setup: Friday, July 31, 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Event: Saturday, August 1, 2026 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Sunday, August 2, 2026 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Teardown: 5:15 PM to 8:00 PM

ARTIST CATEGORIES
Main Exhibitor – maximum of 150 artists can be juried into this category
Community Showcase – maximum of 35 artists can be juried into this category
Youth Showcase – maximum of 5 artists can be juried into this category

MEDIUM CATEGORIES
Clay, Digital Art, Drawing, Fiber, Fiber-wearable, Glass, Jewelry, Jewelry-beaded, Leather, Metal, Mixed Media 2D. Mixed Media 3D, Painting – Acrylic/Oil, Painting – Watercolor, Painting – Other, Paper, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, Wood. The Powderhorn Art Fair does not accept buy-sell, mass-produced items, lotions, soaps, or other country craft items.

  • PAF uses a “blind” jury of 3 judges. The judges do not know the names of the artists they review—judges score based on their perception of Impact, Style/Design, and Technical Skill.
  • Jury Fee for each category entered: $25 (non-refundable)
  • 4 Artwork Images required (No Booth Image required)

IMPORTANT DATES
Application deadline Saturday, February 28th, 2026 (non-refundable application/jury fee)
Notification to exhibit by Monday, April 13th, 2026.
Confirmation deadline is Monday, May 4th, 2026  (non-refundable booth fee due).

AWARDS

  • During the fair, judges will review artists’ work on-site on Saturday. Scores will determine award recipients and the corresponding participation incentive for next year’s show.
  • Best in Show and Spirit of Powderhorn for the Community Showcase artist category will be invited back to apply to our 2027 show with jury and booth fee waived.

ABOUT PPNA
PPNA is a 45-year-old, small-but-mighty community-building nonprofit focusing on serving South Minneapolis.  PPNA’s work involves pursuing creative ways to build connections, sharing relevant community information, and proactively partnering with others to help positively impact key community issues.

 


RULES/REGULATIONS

  1. All work must be original, designed and created by the accepted artist as represented by work in the submitted visual samples. Work made with the use of commercial kits, molds including greenware or is mass produced, will not be accepted.  Absolutely no buy/sell items.
  2. The selected artist’s presence is required on site for the entire show.
  3. If your work reflects and constitutes more than one category, you must apply separately in each category. Each category will be juried separately and require its own jury fee. You cannot jury into more than one category, and you cannot present more than one medium in your booth. A single booth fee will be required for the category you are juried into.
  4. Only one booth space per artist is allowed. Artists may share a booth only if the work is truly collaborative and within the same artistic medium. No double booths.
  5. Artists must have their own white 10 x 10 Tent
  6. 45 lbs. weights for each leg to stabilize tents in case of severe weather
  7. Artists must have a Minnesota Tax ID number.
  8. Artists must fill out an ST-19 form and hand it to the traffic team upon your Friday arrival

 


BOOTH INFORMATION

FEES
Jury Fee: $25 (non-refundable)
Booth Fee: $275 (11′ x 11′)

BOOTH REQUIREMENTS

  1. Artists must provide their own 10′ x 10′ tent, tables, chairs, and all related merchandising materials for their booth.
  2. All artist booth tents must be white.
  3. Only one booth space per artist is allowed.
  4. Artists may only share a booth if the work is made collaboratively and within the same artistic medium—no double booths.
  5. Booths must be free-standing, and tents must be properly weighted with 45-pound weights for each leg.
  6. Display units should be designed for outdoor use and capable of withstanding the elements.
  7. No electricity is provided to artist booths.
  8. PAF will not take specific booth requests from artists.
  9. All artist pieces and related display materials must be primarily and reasonably contained in the designated booth space.

EXHIBIT SPACE

  1. Artists may drive into the park on paved paths and the grass area to their booth space for loading & unloading during designated times.
  2. All booth spaces are on the grass near the lake.
  3. Please be mindful and come prepared to address uneven ground conditions.
  4. PAF will not find an alternative location based on uneven ground conditions.
  5. There is overnight security beginning at 7 pm on Friday and Saturday for PAF weekend.

REFUND POLICY

The $25 jury fee is not refundable.
There are no refunds of booth fees after confirming PPNA’s invitation to exhibit.
