Collaborating with Galleries, Museums, and Curators to Showcase Your Art – PLRAC (New Ulm)

In this in-person panel discussion, panelists Charlie Leftridge and Liz Miller will offer their insights on how artists can effectively partner with arts organizations and curators to exhibit, sell, and promote their artwork. Moderated by Mikhayl Dominguez.

This workshop is for artists in the region served by the Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council (Blue Earth, Brown, Faribault, Le Sueur, Martin, Nicollet, Sibley, Waseca and Watonwan counties) and hosted in partnership with The Grand Center for Arts and Culture, New Ulm.

Meet the Presenters

Panelist: Charlie Leftridge (he/him)
Bio: Charlie Leftridge is the Executive Director of the Carnegie Art Center in Mankato, Minnesota, with over 13 years of non-profit arts administration experience. Charlie lives in Saint Peter, Minnesota, and is an active, queer composer and installation artist. He also serves as a board member at large for Minnesota Citizens for the Arts, a director for a number of regional chamber ensembles, and a grant writer, with a special interest in advocating for diverse artists in Greater Minnesota. When not writing or recording, Charlie can be found hiking in regional state parks or singing with his local chamber choir. charlieleftridge.com

Panelist: Liz Miller (she/her)
Bio: Liz Miller’s work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions throughout the United States and abroad. Her awards include a McKnight Foundation Fellowship for Fiber Artists, a McKnight Foundation Fellowship for Visual Artists, a Joan Mitchell Foundation Painters & Sculptors Grant, and numerous grants from the Minnesota State Arts Board. Miller has completed residencies at Mass MoCA (North Adams, MA), Stove Works (Chattanooga, TN), the Joan Mitchell Center (New Orleans, LA), and the McColl Center for Art + Innovation (Charlotte, NC), among others. Miller is Professor of Installation Art and Drawing at Minnesota State University, Mankato. She lives and works in Good Thunder, MN. www.lizmiller.com

Moderator: Mikha Dominguez (they/them)
Bio: Mikha Dominguez (aka Mikhamik) is a Queer non-binary Latinx Venezuelan artist based in Minneapolis since 2014. With a background in set design, Mikha’s work explores identity, migration, and resilience. They have worked at the Walker Art Center, exhibited at MCAD, University of Minnesota, St. Catherine University, and the University of Omaha, and participated in the Art Shanty Projects. Mikha leads Mikhamik House of Arts and teaches at Springboard for the Arts while studying at MCAD. Visit their website at mikhamik.com
