This hands-on workshop introduces the fundamentals of DJing, from playing music directly from devices to working with professional equipment. Participants will learn how to use mixers and software to blend tracks, manage sound levels, and create smooth transitions. We’ll also cover some of the intangible aspects of DJing, such as how to read a live crowd, and how to shape your set accordingly. Participants will also run through practical exercises to learn core techniques.
No technical background required, though a laptop with Serato DJ Pro pre-loaded is required. DJ Pro is a subscription-based software platform, but free trials are available. Space is limited to 12 participants to allow for discussion and individual questions.
