This panel is part of Work of Art+, and a supplement program of the 12-part Work of Art: Business Skills for Artists series, a professional development curriculum designed to teach business skills to artists in all disciplines. Panelist: Mike Hoyt (he/him)
Bio: Michael Hoyt is a Minnesota born Kanaka artist who maintains a professional art practice living and working on Dakota homeland, Bde Ota Othunwe, Mni Sota Makoce, Minneapolis, Minnesota. His creative practice includes drawing, painting, graphic medicine, network technology, public participatory action, and community land stewardship. Hoyt is the Creative Community Director at the Pillsbury House + Theatre and manages Fellowship Programs including the McKnight Fellowships for Community-Engaged Artists.

Panelist: Saymoukda Duangphouxay Vongsay (she/her)
Bio: Saymoukda Duangphouxay Vongsay is an award-winning Lao American artist and playwright who is best known for her KUNG FU ZOMBIES play cycle and children’s book WHEN EVERYTHING WAS EVERYTHING. She holds multiple fellowships from the Bush, McKnight, and Jerome foundations and has received 40+ awards, grants, and fellowships. She was a 2024 Kennedy Center artist in residence at the REACH and is currently the Mellon Foundation playwright in residence at Theater Mu, a Core Writer at the Playwrights’ Center, a Jerome Foundation artist in residence at Camargo Cassis, France, and a MN State Arts Board Cultural Expressions grantee. Most recently, Saymoukda had the honor of penning and reciting a poem for the inauguration of Mayor Kaohly Her and was recognized as a 1MN History Maker by the office of Governor Walz.

Bio: Felicia is an ARTrepreneur based in Minneapolis, MN specializing in fashion design, performance art, and curating spaces. Felicia is a 2019/20 Springboard for the Arts 20/20 Artist Fellow, 2019-2020 , serves on the May Day Council, is a Northside Awesome Fund Trustee, and proudly serves as Board Chair of Vivid Black Paint. With a passion for community development, Felicia previously held key roles, including Executive Director of the West Broadway Business and Area Coalition and Business & Commercial Real Estate Manager at the Partnership in Property Commercial Land Trust.
