2026 International Sculpture Conference: Call For Panel Proposals

International Sculpture Conference

Deadline: April 2, 2026

The International Sculpture Center invites you to submit a panel proposal for the 32nd International Sculpture Conference, taking place in Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN from October 22-25, 2026.

Sculpture and creative practice have long been tools for memory, critical reflection, and collective care. As we gather for the International Sculpture Conference in the Twin Cities next October, we do so with intention: to listen closely, to think rigorously, to respond thoughtfully, and to imagine new ways forward together. In the wake of ongoing events in Minneapolis, we are reminded that creating space for essential dialogue is more important than ever.

Now is the time for artists to help heal, to bear witness, and to deepen understanding. The ISC is seeking a diverse and comprehensive program; we aim to challenge injustice through inquiry, conversation, and sustained attention.

All submissions must be 200 words (or less) and include a clear but brief statement of the panel objective, relating to relevant topics in contemporary sculpture. We welcome any topics in contemporary sculpture that show diverse perspectives from around the world on the current state of the art community. Art does not look away. Art asks difficult questions. Art helps us find meaning.

Please note that we encourage submission of full panels with 3-4 speakers (including one moderator). Individuals may submit a proposal to be considered as an added speaker on a panel formed by the committee. Individual submissions are less likely to be selected for inclusion than complete panels as they will need to be matched to a panel with a similar theme.

Ideas for workshops are also accepted using the same proposal submission form. If you are submitting an idea for a workshop, please write “N/A” in any inapplicable field.

Virtual presentations or live presentations including one or more remote panelists will be considered. Please indicate clearly in your panel description if any members of your panel intend to present virtually.
