In the Flesh is an invitation to explore embodiment, presence, and identity through the diverse experiences of Blackness. This theme centers the body as a site of memory, power, vulnerability, and celebration—unapologetically physical and profoundly alive.
The exhibition asks: How do we show up in the flesh—in all our complexity, beauty, and contradictions? How do our bodies carry stories, histories, desires, and dreams?
This exhibition welcomes work that confronts and embraces the politics of the body—its textures, movements, scars, joys, and sacredness. From sculpture and textiles to performance, photography, video, and mixed media, artists are encouraged to engage the body as a living, breathing archive of identity, resistance, and care.
