What is Alight?
Alight (formerly American Refugee Committee) has been delivering the goodwill of Minnesotans around the world for 45 years. We’re an international humanitarian organization serving 4 million refugees and displaced people and based right here in Minnesota. For the last several months we’ve been focused on supporting refugee families in Minnesota (fully vetted, who’ve done everything asked of them) who are afraid to leave their homes because of immigration operations.
What is Alight-A-Whirl?
Alight-A-Whirl is our art sale fundraiser happening this May during Northeast Minneapolis’ amazing Art-A-Whirl open art studio festival – the biggest event of its kind in the USA. We’re asking artists – professionals, students, and hobbyists – to help us co-create an art sale that will benefit our refugee neighbors in MN and across the globe. Your gift of donated original art will help a person experiencing the toughest moments of their lives to recover and rebuild a meaningful life of dignity and peace.
