Call for Artists: “The Many Ways We Are Neighbors: Art About Care, Community, and Connection”

Open Call for “The Many Ways We Are Neighbors: Art About Care, Community, and Connection” Group Fine Art Exhibit at the Cora McCorvey Health and Wellness Center

The Cora McCorvey Health and Wellness Center announces their spring and summer group fine art exhibit focused on neighbors and care. To be a neighbor is to live alongside others and share the rhythms of everyday life; the streets we walk, the buildings we inhabit, and the communities we shape together.

In recent years, Minneapolis communities have experienced moments that have challenged us deeply. At the same time, we have seen neighbors step forward in extraordinary ways; offering support, creativity, generosity, and resilience.

This exhibition invites artists to reflect on the many ways people practice being neighbors. Through memory, observation, imagination, and lived experience, artists are encouraged to explore connection, caregiving, belonging, and the shared experience of community life.

Please complete the following application by Monday, April 21, 2026

All selected artists will be notified by Tuesday, April 28, 2026 with further instructions to complete an exhibition contract and drop their work off during open drop off hours tentatively scheduled for the afternoon of Wednesday, May 27, 2026

All selected artists will be paid a $50 stipend, receive a custom swag bag gift, and be welcome to keep 100% of any sales made. (Previous exhibits have averaged 15% sales of all works in the exhibit with this number ever increasing!)

The opening reception for this exhibit is also scheduled for Saturday, June 6th, 2025 from 1pm to 4pm. This event is free and open to the public and everyone is welcome to attend.

Artists may submit up to three 2D works for consideration. If selected, all submitted works will be included in the exhibition. Artists are welcome to propose new work, please indicate this in your application. All selected works must be approved prior to installation. Please note that this exhibition is not able to include overtly partisan or explicitly political works. Submissions should align with the exhibition’s focus on care, community, and connection among neighbors.
