Call for Artists: What Stays With You

Rumriver Art Center

Rumriver Art Center is calling for artists to submit works inspired by memories.

We ask you, “what stays with you?”. We are all a beautiful tapestry of our experiences, sometimes neatly woven, other times chaotically snarled. We encourage artists to look inwards on the memories that they hold most dear to their hearts, whether those be quiet moments of peace and harmony, defining moments of hope or strength, times of love and care, or even fleeting feelings of times gone by.

A memory is a personal artifact that is unique to each of us. While one can experience a memory as a single snapshot within their minds, others may find all of their senses enveloped. Whether the artwork is a concrete or abstract depiction, artists are encouraged to ponder how they hold their most sacred moments. Whether it be through objects, people, places, or beyond, all are worthy of holding our most cherished experiences.

In place of an artist statement, applying artists will be asked to respond to the prompt: “What stays with you”?

This show is on display at Rumriver Art Center from April 25th – May 30th, 2026. The exhibition will then move to the Anoka County Library’s Northtown branch and be on display from June 1st through August 6th, 2026.

There is a $10 entry fee, per piece entered, with a maximum of three entries.

Rumriver Art Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
