Global Arts Plus, a multilingual and culturally vibrant school in Saint Paul Public Schools, invites local dance, theatre, and performance artists to submit proposals for our 2026 5th Grade Arts Residency. Our mission is to provide a comprehensive, arts‑infused education that celebrates creativity, inclusivity, and joyful learning. We seek artists whose work reflects the richness of our community and who are excited to collaborate with young people in meaningful, developmentally appropriate ways.
The residency includes 10–15 contact days during May 2026, with three one‑hour classes per day, and culminates in a student performance on Friday, May 22. Artists will engage 5th graders in accessible, culturally relevant artistic practices that support diverse learners, including multilingual students and those with IEPs. Proposals should highlight how the residency will build ensemble skills, confidence, and creative expression while honoring students’ identities, languages, and cultural backgrounds. Basic technical support is available in the auditorium and dance studio, and artists may request additional needs as part of their proposal.
In addition to full‑length residencies, Global Arts Plus also welcomes proposals for a shorter 5‑day introductory residency. This option is ideal for artists who wish to pilot an idea, build relationships with our school community, and potentially develop a more robust residency for the 2026–27 school year. We encourage artists at all stages of their practice to apply and to bring forward projects that inspire, empower, and celebrate our 5th grade learners.
