Call for Stories & Art: The People’s Museum for Prince

People's Museum for Prince

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS — The People’s Museum for Prince
Deadline: April 30, 2026
Opening: June 7, 2026 | Roberts Gallery, 2400 Plymouth Ave N, North Minneapolis
Free to participate | Free to attend

The People’s Museum for Prince returns!  We open on Prince’s birthday, June 7,  in North Minneapolis, his childhood neighborhood, as we mark 10 years since his passing.

We are calling for stories, memories, and artwork from anyone touched by Prince’s life and music. The museum is a community-created counter-museum — every submission shapes the exhibition. Contributions are warmly welcomed from Minneapolis and from around the world.

The museum explores Prince’s legacy through seven dimensions: Music, Spirituality, Style, Sexuality, Grief, Justice & Joy.

This year’s exhibition also features a special presentation of Houses of Prince — a curated research project documenting the North Minneapolis homes and properties associated with Prince’s life, developed with Minneapolis historian Kristen Zschomler.

What we’re looking for:
— Personal stories and memories of Prince
— Visual artwork (any medium, physical or digital)
— Writing, poetry, creative responses
— Community histories connecting Prince to North Minneapolis

Deadline: April 30, 2026
