Moment Music – Participatory music sessions

Moment Music is a participatory music project inspired by the songs we like, the memories we have, and the sounds around us every day. Participatory music is a way of making music that is interactive and accessible to everyone. Over the course of two hours, we will make a three-movement piece of “moment music”—if that’s sounds like a stretch, don’t worry, we’ll work up to it! Moment music is completely determined by who shows up to the sessions—please come and offer your musical tastes and talents, regardless of whether you call yourself a musician.

The Moment Music participatory music sessions will be facilitated by sound artist Ryan Evans as part of the Hinge Arts Residency. A Minnesota-raised musician, Ryan has a master’s degree in community arts from Goldsmiths College – University of London and has completed additional training in participatory music facilitation. He also led the Minneapolis-based alternative folk band Fox & Coyote for five years, releasing three studio records, receiving radio airplay, and touring regionally.
