If you’re connected to the literary community in the Twin Cities, you likely already know about the valuable work Saint Paul Almanac does. As a small (but mighty!) nonprofit, we rely heavily on the volunteer efforts of our Board of Directors to bring our mission and programs to life. 2025 marks our 20th anniversary and we’re currently looking to grow our Board to ensure we can keep going strong for another 20 years!

What does serving on the Board of Directors entail?
– Board members serve for 3-year terms and not more than 2 consecutive terms.
– Board members meet virtually, up to 6 times per year, to discuss and vote on initiatives related to the organization, such as budget, events, contests, readings, and more.
– Board members chair and serve on committees (Partnerships/Outreach, Development, etc) that meet between board meetings, either virtually or in person, up to 6 times a year.
– There is no financial obligation, but Board members are expected to give at whatever level they are able and assist with fundraising efforts.

Who are we looking for?
– We are particularly seeking individuals with legal or financial expertise.
– We seek individuals who are passionate about building community and inspiring collaborative action through storytelling and literary arts.
– Previous board experience is helpful, but not required.

How does the application process work?
– Fill out the form on this page: https://saintpaulalmanac.org/support/
located beneath the Volunteer section and check the box for Board
