The Metropolitan Regional Arts Council (MRAC) improves arts access for communities in the seven county metropolitan area through grant support to artists and organizations. We strive to help artists and arts organizations thrive, support arts engagement in every community, and encourage the public to value and celebrate the arts and artists.
We are seeking new board members to begin three-year terms in the next fiscal year (starting July 1, 2025).
The Board of Directors is the voluntary, governing body of MRAC, working primarily to safeguard financial health and provide strategic direction. The MRAC Board works in partnership with staff to ensure that the organization’s culture, practices, and relationships align with our stated values, mission, and vision.
We seek a balance of diverse geographic and demographic representation, but board members are required to reside in one of the seven metro counties. Board members are elected for a three-year term and may be elected to a second term for a total of 6 years of service.
We are currently accepting applications from individuals in all seven counties, but we are looking to fill seats for board members from Dakota, Scott, and Washington counties immediately. Ideal expertise includes any of the following: finance, legal, human resources, grantmaking, and public sector experience.
