Minnesota-based artists and artist teams are invited to submit qualifications to be considered to design and install one of two Digitally-Rendered Wallpaper Murals or one of two Painted Murals in our newly renovated space. People of color, LGBTQ+ identified individuals, and people with lived experiences are strongly encouraged to apply. A selection committee comprised of Aliveness Project staff, the Project Manager, and Community Members will review applications and select finalists.
Finalists will be assigned one of the following mural locations:
(1) Mosaic Room: Wallpaper Mural (28’ x 8’) ($3000)
(2) Computer Lobby: Painted Mural (34’ x 8’) ($12,000)
(3) Clinic Lobby: Painted Mural (12’ x 7.125’) ($6,000)
(4) Outreach Office: Wallpaper Mural (12’ x 7.125’) ($2500)
Selected artists will:
• Participate in one-to-two community listening sessions to guide the content, subject matter,
and/or inspiration for the mural
• Provide a sketch, with up to three revisions, for approval by the Selection Committee
• Design and install a Wallpaper Mural or Painted Mural, depending upon site
(Note: For Graphic Murals, installation will be done by the printing company)
Participate in promotional materials, photos, videos, interviews, etc. to document and promote the artwork and grand opening of the space

• A short artist bio and if a team, a short statement about your history working together
Whether you are applying to create a Wallpaper Mural (digitally rendered and vinyl-printed) or a Painted Mural, or if you’d like to be considered for all sites/techniques
• Relevant work experience
• Connection to the communities The Aliveness Project serves
• 5-8 Work Samples. Please share relevant work samples including murals, large-scale works, and/or digital renderings
Timeline:
April 30th: RFQ opens
May 31st: RFQ closes
June 3rd – 17th: Selection committee reviews submissions
Week of June 24th: Finalists notified, mural sites assigned, and contracts signed
July: First half of payments issued (exact date TBD)
July: Listening session with community members (exact date TBD)
August 2nd: Mural design sketches due
Week of August 5th – 9th: Listening session (exact date TBD)
August 5th – 26th: Mural design revisions if needed, mural designs finalized
August 26th – September 27th: Mural installation and completion
